For Freedoms Project

For Freedoms is a platform for creative civic engagement, discourse, and direct action. For Freedoms aims to inject anti-partisan, critical thinking that fine art requires into the political landscape through programming, exhibitions, and public artworks. Lawn Sign event:U-Day at University of NHSeptember 10, 3:30–6:30 pmThompson Hall LawnParticipants are encouraged to produce their own definition of freedom by filling out lawn signs. Lawn signs will then be on displayed on the UNH campus.

The Museum of Art at the University of New Hampshire will host the lawn sign activation, asks the UNH Wildcat community: what does freedom mean to you?

The Museum of Art at the University of New Hampshire asks the UNH Wildcat community: what does freedom mean to you? Utilizing the For Freedoms lawn sign project we asked students, student clubs/organizations, staff, departments on campus and faculty to share their own definition of freedom by filling out signs that say: Freedom Of..., Freedom From..., Freedom For..., and Freedom To… This public art installation of over 100 signs have been placed in the Mills courtyard and will be on display for all to view. The institution encourages everyone to take a selfie and post on social media to spread the word!

Town Hall Forum: FREEDOM

Town Hall ForumOctober 2, 6:30 pm -8:30 pmWhere: Museum of Art, Paul Creative Arts Center Town Halls are forums for inclusive public conversations led by students from the UNH Civil Discourse lab. A follow up to the Lawn Signs event on Sept 10, a dialogue and discussion will take place on the most prevalent themes written on the lawn signs. Students from the discourse lab will employ an inclusive and supportive framework to work through a robust discussion.
