The Mobile Speakers' Podium for Citizens & Noncitizens Chicago to Gary Walk highlighted the trafficking of people from the Midwest to the Gary Airport Deportation Hub for Forced Removal from the US by ICE. From October 28th - November 30th the project is hosted by Steel City Academy in Gary IN, where students and local activists coordinated by the Calumet Artist Residency are programming speakouts and performances. This collaboration is a partner of the For Freedoms 50 State Initiative.

Artists Jenny Polak and Regin Igloria walk will walk from Chicago to Gary with the Mobile Speakers' Podium for Citizens and Non-citizens, with activations along the way. Highlighting the traffic of people forced to undergo deportation at the Gary Airport deportation hub and efforts to stop it. At Steel City Academy in Gary students will collaborate with Sam Love of Calumet Artists Residency in a series of speak-out/performances on stopping the expansion of prison/detention in Northwest Indiana, and environmental racism in Gary/East Chicago.
