Raise Your Hands Up! is an ongoing community art project to draw attention to those migrant children who were separated from their families at the US border as a result of the Trump administration’s "zero-tolerance" policy.
Raise Your Hands Up! to host a public art installation
Despite a court order demanding the children be reunited by July 26th, there are still hundreds of children waiting. In a series of installations, participants, usually children and students, add their hand prints to a mural, along with their names. Each hand print represents one of the hundreds of children currently waiting to reach out to the hand of a parent. Participants not only raise their hands up for the children affected by this humanitarian crisis, but also against immigration policies that tear families apart.
