This art piece was created to represent the possibility for change and healing for all women impacted by incarceration; regardless of their state, residence, ethnicity, identity or any other label society has placed on them. A seed does not produce a bloom without hardship and struggle. It must push through the damp soil, before it reaches out and gets blessed by the sunlight. It endures through natures torturous elements; wind, rain, heat and cold, but it never gives up. It endures until the bloom has been presented. Women who have been incarcerated are just as amazing!!
