For Freedoms is hosting a performance night on Friday, April 19th at 6:30 for Women and Femmes to use as a space for healing. We often focus on female empowerment stemming from the Me Too movement, without stopping to take consideration of the emotional labour and trauma this can have on survivors when these stories are repeated in the media in our daily, public lives. This night will encompass performance-- dance/movement, spoken word, comedy, art, as well as an open mic. It is meant to give women and femmes a creative space to grapple with these issues, creating a space to heal together. This event will be held on a Friday night after-hours, so be sure to follow us @forfreedoms on Instagram for access to the RSVP form.
