For Freedoms Congress (FFCON2024) was a convening of artists, cultural institutions, organizations, and civic leaders that are transforming our political landscape. On September 27 & 28 at The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and partner locations across Los Angeles, For Freedoms invited guests to be present, (re)connect, and recalibrate.

Friday, September 27: Activations Across Los Angeles
To kick off the weekend, For Freedoms hosted events, programs, and art activations with partners across Los Angeles including 18th Street Arts Center and Project for Empty Space. Pace Gallery Los Angeles also hosted a book signing celebration, where attendees can acquire signed advance copies of For Freedoms’ first publication, For Freedoms: Where Do We Go From Here?. The evening concluded with Jazz Night at LACMA co-presented by For Freedoms, featuring local jazz ensemble Black Art Distrikt.
Saturday, September 28: FFCON2024 at LACMA
FFCON2024 featured a series of programs, interactive events, art installations, performances, and spaces for collective joy, grief, and healing.To open the Congress, we paid tribute to the beloved and much missed Michael Latt. Organized by Tanya Selvaratnam, the session included reflections on Michael and his legacy from Miriam Fogelson, Sol Guy, Glenn Kaino, BMIKE, and Michael’s family.
